During my final year at UCEN Manchester, I contributed to a live design commission for the LTE Group’s 2019 Outstanding Achievement Awards—a collaborative brief that invited us to reimagine how recognition could look and feel.
As part of a multidisciplinary team of graduating designers, I helped conceptualise and produce a collection of contemporary trophies and commemorative pin badges. Each of us submitted bespoke designs for public vote, with the winning entries selected for production: 13 trophies and 200 pin badges, all completed within a three-week deadline.
This project demanded:
- Creative agility across 2D and 3D design disciplines
- Collaborative problem-solving and adaptive planning
- Tight time management and professional workflow
- Hands-on construction and finishing to industry standards
Our team brought together graduates from Contemporary Arts Practice and Jewellery & 3D Contemporary Craft Design, merging diverse artistic practices into a unified, high-quality outcome. The final awards were crafted to celebrate excellence—both in the recipients and in the design process itself.
